Why Career Coaching?

My Career experiences and skills are very valuable to me. I now have a passion for using them to help people in the world of work find their first, next and most satisfying career.

is to guide career minded individuals to understand themselves, their talents, passions, work skills and experience in order to find their next and best career. I do this by an approach called “Career on Purpose”. The outcome is that my clients have enhanced self-awareness, clarity of purpose and goals, increased career self-management skills and an action plan to get the career they want. My clients are motivated college graduates looking for their first career, mid-level job seekers looking for the right job and career changers looking for their most satisfying work ever.

I was born on March 4th in Washington DC to Jacques and Michele Bernier, parents of French Canadian descent. My father was an officer in the US Army so I was the first born of 5 army brats. Over the next 18 years of my life I moved about eight times including overseas to Japan and Germany and all over the USA. I lived most of my life in Los Angeles. I often had to leave friends, schools and a life behind as I moved. This experience taught me to adapt quickly to new situations and to reserve judgment and relate to people as distinct individuals.

My first job out of College, the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk!), was as a French Teacher for Junior High Students in Olathe, Kansas. Through this experience I found that I loved teaching and coaching students. Although I did not continue in this field because of life circumstances, I found that my communication, instructions and people skills gained through teaching led me to satisfying 22 year career in staffing and recruitment. I found that helping companies find their employees and individual find jobswas very rewarding. This was to be a strong career pathe with many successes in placing office and operations staff into fulfilling careers. I was hooked. How cool was it to be able to help people, businesses and the world by placing people in great jobs! I was good at it because I worked with my candidates and clients in an empathetic, non-judgmental way and had a strong intuition for making great matches of employees to companies. This career introduced me to my management, sales, recruiting, interviewing, revenue management and customer service skills that help me to understand the world of work. All this lead me to find my passion in Career Coaching.

I now live in Denver, Colorado out of choice. I have two wonderful college age children, a husband and a business of my own. My passions are inspiring others to be their best, learning constantly, the entertainment arts, pop culture and teaching.

I look forward to being your Career Coach!

A Brief History

Career Highlights

Personal stuff

"Danielle does not take a “one size fits all” approach to career coaching. I really appreciated that she asked me in the beginning what I wanted to get out of our time together, and how she could work with me most effectively. She adapted to the style I needed most, and then led me through some exercises and discussions that allowed me to discover for myself what I wanted to do next. Working with Danielle has been very beneficial for me, and I highly recommend her."

-Sherry Stevens, Manager, Employee Relations

"I have known Danielle Schmidt for 11 years working together in the staffing industry. Danielle is extremely talented, approachable and impressive when coaching and prepping her candidates for their interview. No one is more thorough and comprehensive than she is. Any individual who has the opportunity to be mentored by Danielle is very fortunate. I recommend her highly."

-Robin Sherman, Metro Sales Executive - Healthcare, Manpower

"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what

you believe is great work"

-Steve Jobs, Inventer and Leader, Apple, Inc.
